Conference Schedule

The Second International Conference on Hate Studies builds upon the successful 2004 initial conference.  

We will explore this year's theme through four main areas: Education, Research, Practice, and Advocacy.  

The conference convenes leading academics from multiple disciplines from around the world, law enforcement personnel, journalists, educators, representatives from governmental and non-governmental organizations, human rights experts, community organizers, activists, and others to discuss hatred from multiple perspectives.

The conference includes keynote addresses, special sessions, workshops, panels, and paper presentations across theoretical and disciplinary lenses.

The lessons learned and plans which emerge will help educators, researchers, law enforcement, advocates, and others to better analyze and combat hatred in its previous manifestations.

Conference registration is available now (payment by VISA or MC credit/debit card or by check only).  All presenters and attendees must register to participate.

Conference Dinner:  
Members of the Gonzaga community and the public may join the Conference presenters and attendees for the Conference Dinner with featured speaker Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish.  Pre-registration and payment are required.

Sponsorship support for the Second International Conference on Hate Studies comes from the Kalispel Tribe of Indians, the Northern Quest Resort and Casino, the Pacific Northwest Canadian Studies Consortium, the Providence Center for Faith and Healing, and the following units at Gonzaga University:  the School of Law, the School of Engineering and Applied Science, the School of Education, the School of Professional Studies, the Department of Political Science, the Center for Global Engagement, the Office of Student Life, the Unity Multicultural Education Center, and the Canadian Studies Committee. NOTE: The Institute cannot provide financial support for conference attendance or participation. All expenses - including conference registration fee, travel, accommodations, meals (those not included in the conference fee) are the responsibility of the presenters and attendees.
