Teaching about the Holocaust

On March 12-13, 2009, The Institute for Action Against Hate is working with the Washington State Education Resource Center, Spokane Community College, Institute for Extended Learning and the East Valley Middle School to sponsor the following three events:

March 12, 2009 Stories from a Holocaust Survivor: Peter Metzelaar
Peter Metzelaar will be talking about his experiences as a holocaust survivor. To learn more about him, visit Survivor Stories and scroll down to "Peter M."

March 12 -19, 2009 Exhibit: Stories Among Us: Witnesses to the Holocaust
Both of these events are free to the public and begin at 7:00 pm at the Spokane Community College Hagan Foundation Center for the Humanities. This will be the first public showing of the exhibit.

March 13, 2009 Teacher Seminar: Teaching About the Holocaust
Learn how to more effectively teach about the holocaust. You must preregister by March 6th for this event and there is a $20 fee. You can register online at www.wsherc.org. It begins at 8:30 am and concludes at 3:30 pm
