JOURNAL OF HATE STUDIES
Comments
The Journal of Hate Studies is a valuable
resource in the effort to advance the field of hate studies.
By having a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to addressing
the complex and multi-dimensional problem of hate, researchers
have a place to share findings, stimulate discussion, and
advance theory. The research is vital for it can better
inform activism and intervention. In the end our goal is
not to better understand hate crime, but to end it.

Journal of Hate Studies is the only American
journal that provides a forum for publishing hate research.
The journal is multidisciplinary and accepts articles from
political, social, psychological and ethnic/racial religious
studies. The scholarship is peer -reviewed and rigorous
-- the editing and set up always reader friendly. There
is no other journal endorsed by and supported via the Institute
for Action Against Hate--and those dedicated to the eradication
of hate.

When I first began the doctoral program one
of my employees asked what I would be studying in a PhD.
in Leadership Studies. After my brief explanation, she replied,
"So, you're going to figure out why we all can't just
get along". In a sentence, the contributions of the
Journal of Hate Studies do just that. If we can't "just
get along", then we should find out why. The opportunity
provided by the Journal to research hate allows for the
day when it is no longer needed...because we all do get
along.

The Journal of Hate Studies is a wonderful,
interdisciplinary resource for humanist academics. As a
sociologist, it has been a very helpful as I study how academics
in other disciplines approach the study of ethnicity and
inter-ethnic relations. By being able to see how other disciplines
study inter-group relations, The Journal of Hate Studies
allows me to focus my own perspective as a sociologist much
more intently.
