Grigore I. Braileanu received the B.S.E.E. degree in electronics and communications in 1962, and the Ph.D. degree in automatic control in 1981, both from the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Romania.

From 1962 to 1965, he was involved in the design and implementation of remote control equipment. Then, he joined the Department of Automatic Control of the Polytechnic University of Bucharest where he was an Assistant Professor until 1983. From September 1973 to June 1974 he was a visiting scholar at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY. From 1983 to 1987, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Syracuse University. In 1987, he joined the faculty of Gonzaga University as Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering. From 1993 to 2016 he held the position of Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He retired in May 2016 and was awarded the rank of Professor Emeritus

Professor Braileanu's research interests include digital signal processing, analog and digital control systems, electrical network theory, and numerical methods. He has authored one book, 19 journal papers, and 36 conference papers.

Professor Emeritus Grigore Braileanu is an IEEE Life Member.
