Child Care is one part school, one part home and one part museum.  Children in this school are seen as being fully competent and capable of learning about the world around them through discovery and investigation.  Teachers listen to the children’s interests and questions and provide props and materials to help the children follow their investigations.  The teachers learn with the children as they explore the environment of the school and neighborhood community.

The homelike atmosphere comes in part from the size of the Center, with eight toddlers and eighteen preschoolers.  The CBCC maintains a low teacher to child ratio, 1:4 for toddlers and 1:6 for preschool.  This allows more one on one time for caring and nurturing the children and their learning.

The CBCC environment is beautiful and homelike, and stimulating to children’s curiosity and learning.  Materials and natural elements are displayed beautifully and thoughtfully throughout the environment.  Children’s work is given value and importance through documentation and display.  The environment conveys the clear sense that children and their work are valued and appreciated.

The Center is a full day, full-year program open Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm.
