  • Episteme Links: Informative meta-site covers all aspects of philosophy, including Ancient Greek philosophy.  Useful features include links to philosophy e-texts, biographies of philosophers, commentaries and other secondary source material, and images of philosophers.
  • Hippias: Limited Area Search Engine devoted to internet resources of interest to scholars and students of philosophy.  Peer review helps guarantee that search results are philosophy-related.
  • Philosophy in Cyberspace: Extensive meta-site indexing thousands of philosophy-related sites.

    Ancient Greek Philosophy and Culture

  • Argos: Limited Area Search Engine on Ancient and Medieval worlds on the Internet.  This peer-reviewed research tool is focused on resources of use to people looking for material relevant to the ancient and medieval periods of history.
  • Exploring Plato's Dialogues: a collection of resources especially devoted to study of some of the most important dialogues of Plato, including the Crito, Phaedo, Symposium, and Republic.  Online texts are included, as well as secondary source materials and an online discussion group.
  • Perseus Project: extensive digital library of resources on Ancient Greek and Roman literature and culture.  Includes extensive collection of Ancient Greek texts, in Greek as well as in English translation, along with Greek language text tools such as lexica (Greek dictionaries).  Also features extensive collections of digitized Greek art.  Well organized information of high quality with powerful search functionality makes the Perseus site valuable for research on Ancient Greek literature and culture.

  • Ancient City of Athens: "a photographic archive of the archaeological and architectural remains of ancient Athens (Greece)."  While primarily intended as for students in classical art, archaeology, languages, and history, the site conveys a clear sense of the physical setting where many key events in Ancient Greece took place.
