I live in Spokane, WA, with my family: wife Sharon, and daughters Susan, Leslie, Sophia, and Heather. Susan and Leslie graduated from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and are working on graduate degrees (respectively) in international communications at American University (Washington, DC) and creative writing at Kingston University (London, UK). Sophia is at Baylor working on a degree in apparel design and marketing. Youngest daughter Heather is still at home.
We attend Valleypoint
Church in the Spokane Valley.  Under the dynamic
leadership of Pastor Jim Shiner, we are looking forward to
exciting days of growth and service.  I am the Sunday morning
worship leader (service at 9:30 am), playing guitar.  I also
teach a Sunday morning Bible study / discussion class for young
      adults.

While my movie-watching rivals neither Binx Bolling (in Walker
Percy's novel The Moviegoer) nor my colleague Brian
Clayton, I am a fan and scholar of movies.  I particularly
enjoy Clint Eastwood films, such as Unforgiven (1992) and
Hereafter (2010), and films that explore our understanding
of our place in the cosmos, such as Terence Malick's The Tree
of Life (2011) and the narratively confused but intriguing
      Ridley Scott film Prometheus (2012).

I'm also a fan of photography, especially while traveling. I have oodles of pictures from trips to Italy (2001, 2006, and 2009) and the UK (2003). Here's one of my favorites, a panorama shot of Hadrian's Wall in Northumberland near Walltown Crags.
