Philosophy of Human Nature Reflection Paper Questions

Due Date  Background Question Analysis/Discussion
Friday, 9/7/2001 You have lived on this planet for some time now, mostly in the company of other human beings.  You have had to learn to predict their behaviors and to learn how to get along in the world.

Based on this experience and other sources (including religious training, what your parents have told you, philosophical musings), name three things that you can say are true (or at least very probable) about human nature.

Example (although this is vague and needs to be spelled out and clarified):
"Human beings are basically good."

Be sure to give evidence to support your claims.

Also try to consider objections or other points of view.

Example (please provide more detail):
There is some evidence (namely the success of market capitalism) that human beings are basically selfish.
