Evaluate Socrates' decision not to flee in light
of Hobbes' claims in Chapter 14 of Leviathan. Think about Sartre
and Kierkegaard (also think of Ben's concerns about the meaning of life
from the film) as well as Glaucon/Adiemantus' arguments (also Jack's claims
about "the real world", also from the film). You don't have to actually
use all of this material in your paper. I just want to start to think
about the plausibility of Hobbes' claims with respect to how representative
it is of the entirety of human experience, particularly regarding the meaning
of life. |
