Diane C. Tunnell - Homepage

Welcome to my first attempt (actually my third or fourth) to create a home page that I find both useful and informative. As I have been going through this process it is rewarding and frustrating simultaneously. But so much for talk, let me get on with what I really want you to know. As you scroll through the document, I hope you will find some information about who I am and where I work. Congratulations on finding me and happy reading!

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Born and raised in Oklahoma - Where - I am an original OKIE from Muskogee. It is located in the northeastern part of the state. Actually I think this is the prettiest part of the state. It has lots of rivers, trees, lakes, good fishing, but no mountains. We do have a few rolling hills that some may consider mountains, but since I moved to the Northwest, I would have to seriously challenge their thoughts on what a "mountain" looks like:) In the early 70's I taught high school physical education in Neosho, Missouri for two years before returning to Oklahoma to continue teaching and working on my doctorate. Upon completion of my Ed.D I decided it was time for a change. I was intending on moving South to the Carolina's, Texas or Florida but somehow I got sidetracked and look where I ended up, SPOKANE, WASHINGTON since 1987. If you can add then you must certainly see that the Northwest and Spokane have agreed with my lifestyle since I have been here almost 10 years. While I do not proclaim to like the cold, snowy weather and sometimes long winters, the area is great. There are great outdoor activities to participate in and if one is to survive, they must engage in these recreational pursuits.

I am somewhat diversified in my recreational pursuits and hobbies. I like to jog (preferably not alone), play tennis, ride bikes (recreational only-no marathons or racing), avid reader (fiction, adventure or mystery), walk (newest hobby), computer junkie (I am not very good, but love to attempt new things) and sometimes needle point. At one point, several years ago, I considered snow skiing. Actually, I took lessons and played at it for a couple of years. But since I hadn't started as a young age, I decide it was too much effort and costly to pursue. I will still go once a year just to say I ski, but only look for me on the beginner slopes (maybe a slow intermediate)!

I have one son, a senior in high school and two dogs. One is a golden retriever (9 years named Einstein)) the other was a pound puppy (4 years named Benji due to him looking so much like the TV Benji but larger).
