CONTENTS

Assignment for Tuesday, July 6:  Read pp. 67-106 and the Syllabus

Course Text:  The text we will be using is Kadish & Schulhofer, Criminal Law and Its Processes:  Cases and Materials (8th ed. 2007, ISBN 978-0-7355-5794-9). Some students like to have a supplemental text, sometimes called a "Hornbook," that explains key concepts and addresses the material from a different point of view. The book I recommend in this category (but do not require) is Joshua Dressler, Criminal Law, 5th ed. 2009, ISBN 978-1-4224-2987-7.

Crim Law Tutorial: I have made a relatively crude tutorial program that will help you learn more about the Model Penal Code. It uses an old DOS program but it should run on most computers. To download the zip file that contains the program and accessory files, Click here. Copy the zipped files into a directory or subfolder that is convenient for you. After you have unzipped the files, click on the file named _run_CrimTutorial.bat and it will launch the program.
