you read:
Why is this written as a dialogue? What sort of person does Socrates seem to be in this dialouge? What is the point of this dialogue?

Explain the distinction Socrates makes at 10,
concerning whether piety is loved by the gods because it is pious or pious
because it is loved by the gods.
Why do you think the dialogue ends the way it does, with Euthyphro rushing off without answering the question. Does Socrates know the answers to the questions he poses? What is the purpose of the discussion, from Socrates' point of view? |
Try
to identify instances of the famed "Socratic Irony".
Notice the role of "care" in the dialogue,
particularly in Socrates statements and questions.
